Kelly Clarkson's Songs Will Be On Idol

Kelly Clarkson has negotiated with American Idol and contestants will be allowed to sing her songs. It's worth noting that Simon Cowell got publicly pissy about her reluctance, but says nothing about Michael Jackson and his (for now) Beatles catalogue. All those songs are off limits for Idol and it's a shame because they are some of the best Pop songs ever.

"Idol" must get permission from the owners of song licenses, Kelly Clarkson included, before broadcasting the material. Clarkson's representatives say they were in standard negotiations over those rights and that Cowell's remarks took them by surprise. "Kelly is fine with her songs being used on the show. Simon Cowell Criticizes Kelly Clarkson

Kelly Clarkson, who won the first season of the hit US show, American Idol, has refused to let the programme's producers use any of her hits for wannabes to sing in its latest run, which started last night.

The Idol franchise is a huge money maker and Kelly Clarkson has been one of it's biggest successes. I mentioned the amazing all encompassing contract that Idol contestants must sign in a previous post. Now that Kelly is refusing to cooperate with something that's not in the contract, Simon Cowell is bad mouthing her in the media.

I think the contestants should all choose the song 'Bitch' and dedicate it to Simon Cowell and then I think all the viewers should just not vote.
